Lady M Confections

In anticipation of its Midtown East location opening, I went to pay homage to Lady M Confection's flagship boutique in the Upper East Side.

Lady M's UES shop
I can see the cakes!
Having tasted Lady M cakes at different restaurants in the city (Gyu Kaku and Ippudo both serve the Lady M green tea crepe cake!), I was definitely excited to finally visit the shop and try more cake.  Caaaaaaake!

It's a small space with only a few tables, so there may be a bit of a wait if you go during peak afternoon times.  I was so surprised by how white and simple the space was - barely any decoration and definitely not much color other than white!  But your attention definitely goes towards their gorgeous cakes so I guess the decorators knew what they were doing...

Small dining area in the back of the shop - simple and white
As you can tell from the menu and price list below, you will pay dearly for this afternoon snack.  And the cake prices (which are not on the menu below) run about $7-8 per slice but I promise you it is worth it!!!

Since I didn't have brunch (or my coffee) that morning, I decided to pair my slice of cake with coffee.  I don't know why I was surprised, but their coffee was pretty good too.  And sugar comes in the form of rock sugar on the stick!

Decent coffee and sugar comes as rock candy!
When time came for me to choose my cake slice, I couldn't decide so I went back up to the display area to pick.  Let's see what my my belly is craving today...

Perusing the cake selection...
I finally made my selection and soon enough our cake slices followed!!!  Yippeeeeee!  Dining compadre #1 ordered the Strawberry Shortcake.  This cake was extremely light and oh so fluffy.  I especially loved that the frosting was airy and not overly sweet!

Strawberry Shortcake
Dining compadre #2 ordered the Coconut Mille Crepe.  This is the same as their famous original Mille Crepe cake with the paper-thin crepes (at least 20!) layered with creme.  But this was coconut flavored and a slice of heaven!  Amazing!

As for me, I ordered a slice of the Gateau aux Marrons cake - almond flour cake with a whipped cream center and chestnut-infused cream piping on top.  This was phenomenal and now a new favorite of mine!  The almond flour cake, cream center, and chestnut piping were a wonderful blend of flavor - I highly recommend!

Ahh...this was just such a wonderful afternoon treat.

If you have the chance, definitely stop by!

  1. These three guys are going in the restaurant. Where they are eating food and enjoy their time. They are happy to go in edusson paper writing reviews place. They cannot do more things instead of eating food in this time.
